In the framework of the working visit in Great Britain , on September 6, Gela Dumbadze, the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues, held a meeting with Kristian Jensen – the Head of Collections and Curation at British Library and Janet Zmroczek, the Head of European and Americas Collections.
The State Minister viewed the ancient Georgian manuscripts at the library. The head of European and Americas collections- Janet Zmroczek told Gela Dumbadze about the history of these manuscripts; also showed him the manuscripts of Shakespeare.
The State Minister gave “Vefkhistkhaosani” (The Knight in the panther’s Skin) as a gift to the library. As the Minister mentioned, this year Republic of Georgia marks the 850 years anniversary of  Shota Rustaveli -the author of the poem, therefore this present is symbolic.
Kristian Jensen gifted Gela Dumbadze with exceptionally interesting edition of “The Book of The British Library” by Michael Leapman. At the end of the meeting, the hosts invited the State Minister at the exhibition of William Shakespeare, organized in the British Library.
