The Leuville land is returned to Georgia ! After 25 years of waiting the act of the land return to Georgia was signed several minutes ago, at Leuville. The Leuville Chateau is 37 kilometers from Paris and occupies 45 000 square kilometers. The act of the return of the Leuville Chateau was signed by Gela Dumbadze, the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues, from the Georgian side and the representative of the families of government of Georgia’s First Democratic Republic (1918-1921), from the French side.
Tea Tsulukiani – the Minister of Justine of Georgia; Gigi Gigiadze-The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia; Ekaterine Siradze-Delone – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of France; Gocha Javakhishvili- Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of France; the representatives of the Leuville City Hall and Georgian Diaspora attended the ceremony of signing historic act of the Leuville land return to Georgia.
The process of the Leuville land return to Georgia has been going for 25 years. Numerous people in different periods of time have participated in this process. The special parity commission, created for the purpose of the return, in 2014, started its work exceptionally actively and by successive negotiations with the legal heirs of the land and the support of the Government of Georgia took this process to the signing of the document of the historic importance, which was solemnly held today, in Republic of France, at the Leuville Chateau.
