On September 3, Gela Dumbadze- the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues hosted the children from the Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, who are in Georgia in the framework of the project “Children are asking for Peace.’’
The project aims to address the attention of the world community to current processes in Ukraine by diverse activities the children participate in, so that as many people support the peaceful resolution of the conflict as possible. Giorgi Nazarov, the temporary attorney of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Georgia and other members of the staff.
The State Minister addressed the participants of the project with the opening word, told them about the event held by his office for the support of Ukraine and expressed his belief that the goodwill will win, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict will end and the peace will be established in Ukraine. On behalf of the guests, Hanna Krisiuk – the project coordinator addressed the State Minister and the participants of the meeting.
The participants of the project “Children are asking for Peace” have been in Georgia for several days. They visited the Patriarchate of Georgia, where Metropolitan Daniel hosted them. Zaal Sarajishvili, the Deputy Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues also participated in the meeting held at the Patriarchate. The guests visited Mtskheta, viewed the sights of Mtskheta and Tbilisi. Ensemble “Shavnabada’’ also hosted their Ukrainian peers, together with the State Minister; the Georgian and Ukrainian songs were performed during the meeting. At the end of the meeting, the State Minister grated the Ukrainian children with symbolic gifts.
