On 28-29 October, at Ilia Chavchavadze Kutaisi Public Library, the VIII International Conference of Kartvelology was held,dedicated to the Georgians living abroad.
Gela Dumbadze, the state Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues opened the conference ceremonially. He thanked the organizers – Nargiz Chogovadze, the director of the library; Professor Tariel Phutkaradze; the Mayor of Kutaisi city; the supporters of this important event and wished success to the participants of the conference.
The state Minister underscored, that the role of scientists and researchers much like the Georgian state itself, is essential in raising awareness of Georgian Diaspora and maintaining Georgian consciousness in our compatriots. He also spoke about the successful way, which ended by signing the final act of the Leuville estate return to Georgia and the future perspectives to be successfully continued.
At the end, Gela Dumbadze granted the library with collected articles and books, published by the office of the state Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues.
