On February 22, Gela Dumbadze, State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues met with Salome Zurabishvili. The meeting focused on Salome Zourabichvili’s initiative, that Georgian citizens should have an opportunity to maintain Georgian citizenship, upon acquiring foreign citizenship. The State Minister acquainted her with the ideas expressed by the task group, created at Prime-Minister’s instruction concerning this issue. S.Zourabichvili expressed satisfaction and thanked personally Gela Dumbadze for his organizational skills and prompt measures in respect of tackling this issue. She also briefed the State Minister about her meeting with David Usupashvili, Georgian Parliament Speaker and his proposal on creation of a Parliamentary task group on this issue. An opinion was expressed on creation of unified working group on this issue.
