On May 27, at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University the First Professional Diaspora Forum “Share your experience to Homeland” was held. The Forum aimed at sharing experience of Georgian Diaspora representatives and setting partnership relations with the state institutions, private and public sector.
The Forum was opened by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia.
In his speech, the Prime Minister, spoke of the last two years reforms, the unique resources and community-related issues.
Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia blessed the Georgian Diaspora representatives and wished them soon return.
The participants were also addressed by Vladimir Papava, Rector of Tbilisi State University; Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili; Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili; US Ambassador to Georgia Richard Norland; Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia Boris Yaroshevich; World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Henry Kerali; Capital Bank’s General Director Lasha Khoperia; The International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) Head of Regional Office Violeta Wagner; International diaspora Engagement Alliance (IdEA) Program Officer Sarah Gallagher.
During the event, the Tbilisi State University, the World Bank and the International Diaspora Engagement Alliance signed the Memorandums of Understanding.
