The Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues as the regional partner of the International Diaspora Engagement Alliance (IdEA) is holding the Diaspora Week. It aims to engage Georgian diaspora representatives in the ongoing processes and the challenges in Georgia. On October 13, at the exhibition center “Expo Georgia”, by opening the “Diaspora Economic Regional Forum” the Diaspora Week started.
The Forum was addressed by the members of Georgian Government, Heads of the international organizations, as well as the newly appointed US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr. Ian Kelly.
The Forum aims presenting the new diaspora intellectual and financial service programs by partner organizations, as well as sharing of the diaspora investment projects by the Business Councils and Chambers of Commerce abroad, the innovative development of mechanisms for strengthening the diaspora investments in the region, engaging the diaspora for active participation in the processes at homeland, unite the people around the common goals and needs.
