Lika Torikashvili, student in UWC Atlantic College and our compatriot in the Great Britain arranged another Diaspora project. Her idea formed youth movement, NGO – “Paint the World” and now it is popular not only in the Great Britain but in other countries as well. On March 10-18, in the frame of UWC projects’ week the youth movement arranged an international project “Georgia – Live Museum of Nations’ Interrelation and Tolerance”. Four students from UWC Atlantic College and Dave Brucker, Vice rector, Georgian youth and six student from Malaysia branch of “Paint the World” participated. Project partners were UWC Atlantic College Administration and Malaysia Ministry of Youth, the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Diaspora Issues, International Charitable Foundation of The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and Administration of Mtatsminda Park. The main aim of the project is to introduce Georgian history, folk and cultural heritage; to popularize traditions which help keeping peace and co-existence of the representatives of different faiths in the orthodox Christian country.
In the frame of the project participants visited historical sights, Christian churches, mosque, synagogue, Catholic Church, Mtatsminda Park, attended the rehearsal of the ensemble “Erisioni” and on March 18 arranged final conference in the International Charitable Foundation of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
They organized humanitarian event in the Children’s Hospital named after M.Iashvili, arranged meetings with youth in Tbilisi N1 public school, Tserovani and Gldani Children’s Home.
